This Radiation Awareness course introduces the principles of radiation safety, helping learners identify risks, apply control measures, and follow legal procedures.

Radiation is typically classified into two types: ionising (e.g. X-rays, gamma rays, alpha and beta particles) and non-ionising (e.g. UV light, microwaves, radiofrequency). Each type presents specific hazards that need to be managed to protect individuals, the public, and the environment.

Developed by qualified consultants at SEITECH International, this course supports employees, supervisors, and safety officers working in or near areas where radiation may be present. It explains risk assessment, signage, monitoring devices, and emergency protocols.

It aligns with UK regulations including the Ionising Radiations Regulations 2017 (IRR17), the Control of Artificial Optical Radiation at Work Regulations 2010, and Health and Safety Executive (HSE) guidance.
