Prolonged or repeated use of vibrating tools can cause serious and permanent injuries such as Hand-Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS) and carpal tunnel syndrome. This Vibration (HAVS) Awareness course helps workers and employers recognise vibration hazards, assess exposure levels, and implement effective control measures to protect health and safety.
Symptoms of HAVS include numbness, tingling, and loss of strength in the fingers and hands. These conditions are preventable, but once developed, they are irreversible. Raising awareness of early warning signs and the importance of regular health surveillance is key to preventing long-term damage.
Designed by SEITECH International’s occupational health and safety experts, this course is suitable for construction workers, maintenance staff, supervisors, and health & safety representatives. It applies to any environment where vibrating equipment or tools are used.
It supports compliance with the Control of Vibration at Work Regulations 2005 and guidance from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), helping employers meet legal obligations and reduce compensation risks.
