Course description

During this half day course, learners will develop a basic knowledge of health and safety issues such as: hazards and risks in the workplace, workplace conditions that can affect health and safety, and the requirements for workplace procedures.

The Qualsafe Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace (RQF) has been designed for all employees working in any workplace, to help raise their awareness of health and safety in the workplace.

What will i learn?

Understand the importance of health and safety in maintaining a safe working environment
Recognise key roles and responsibilities of employers and employees under health and safety law
Identify common workplace hazards and the associated risks
Understand basic principles of risk control and accident prevention
Know how to report workplace accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions
Understand the purpose of safety signs and signals in the workplace
Recognise the importance of good housekeeping and personal hygiene
Understand the role of personal protective equipment (PPE) and when it should be used
Be aware of emergency procedures, including fire and first aid
Promote a positive attitude towards health and safety in the workplace
