Course description

During this 1 day course, learners will be taught the key principles of manual handling and how to apply these to their workplace. They will also practise a wide range of techniques, ensuring that they leave the course confident and proficient in moving and handling.

The Qualsafe Level 2 Award in Safe Moving and Handling (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification designed for those who work, or intend to work, in a role that involves manual handling. This course is ideal for those working in a variety of environments including warehouses and shops.

What will i learn?

Understand the importance of safe manual handling practices in reducing workplace injuries
Identify key legislation relating to manual handling, including employer and employee responsibilities
Recognise common musculoskeletal disorders and their causes
Understand the principles of ergonomics and risk assessment in manual handling tasks
Apply the principles of safe movement, including posture, lifting techniques, and load management
Demonstrate correct manual handling techniques through supervised practical activities
Recognise unsafe handling practices and how to report them
Understand the use of mechanical aids and handling equipment in reducing risk
Support workplace procedures to prevent injury from lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling loads
Contribute to a positive health and safety culture by encouraging best practice in manual handling
