Course description

During this qualification, learners will cover a range of health and safety topics, including: understanding the requirements for health, safety and welfare in the workplace, legal requirements, the benefits of using a health and safety system and understanding the risks and control methods for common workplace hazards.

The Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace (RQF) is ideal for those who are working at or are aspiring to work at a supervisory or management level. This qualification enhances learners health and safety knowledge in the workplace.

What will i learn?

Understand the roles and responsibilities of employers and employees under UK health and safety law
Recognise common workplace hazards and effective control measures
Conduct suitable and sufficient risk assessments to reduce risks in the workplace
Understand the importance of accident reporting, investigation and follow-up
Demonstrate knowledge of workplace welfare requirements including ventilation, sanitation and lighting
Identify appropriate signage, safety systems, and communication methods for hazard awareness
Understand procedures for fire safety, evacuation, and use of fire extinguishers
Promote a positive health and safety culture within the workplace
Apply the principles of safe manual handling and ergonomics
Support the development and maintenance of a safe working environment through monitoring and review
